French Landscape Painting or Indian Countryside?
Every time we head out into the countryside from Kolkata, I can't help but think of the similarities to French landscape paintings I have seen from the 1800s, and also think that it won't be this way for much longer.
Stumbled across your blog bloghopping and come by occasionally. Have to really compliment you on your photos. Really, it's "Aamar Shonar Bangla" as Tagore wrote, "My golden Bengal". Although now absolutely littered with plastic, garbage and polluted beyond description, the fertile countryside is still beautiful and it comes through so well in your pictures.

Sharmishtha,
Thanks so much for the compliment! I have been lucky to have such a marvelous environment to photograph.

Beautiful contrast from busy Kolkata. The photos are so "Frenchy"-all Alan needs is a baguette under his arm!
